Any way 1, 1 1/8, or 1 1/4 oz. of #6 will kill any rooster at least to 50 yards. I use a lot of 1 1/8 oz. #6's in my 16 Gauge Rem.1100 with .015 of choke (Skeet II). When I shot a 12 ga. it was 1 1/4 oz. of #6, same choke.
